The ever common Yellow Vented Bulbul

The Mystery Bird

Well here's the little fella. It's a Blue-Crowned Hanging Parrot.

Looking all nice for the camera.

Shy fella going for the fruits

See the blue feathers at the top of its head?. That's why it's called the Blue-crowned hanging parrot. {Ohhhhhh :P}

Meet the King

Took a drive down to Penang last Friday (16th May 2009) and stop by a rest area. Had another chance to use my new lens to shoot this White Collared Kingfisher when divemuster spotted it at the place we were parked. A little soft but still pretty good since they were taken hand held. Just needs more practise.

Back view of the fella
Front view of the fella

View of the fella with a lizard which it magically cought in mid-air. Don't ask me how, we just saw it flew and next we know the little fella was in its beak.

The sun was at the back of the kingfisher so I over exposed the shot +2 to try and get these two photos.

Here is one at 100% crop.
{You know its lucky it was a lizard. Imagine if it was a praying mantis! Then there would really be something to laugh about [right mogs] :P }

Show must go on

Been awhile since I've posted. Back with my backup camera. Just did a quick test with a new lens I've recently acquired. This sterling was shot hand held about 10 meters from subject. So far I'm pleased with the result. No crop as is, just remove noise and a little USM.

Taken from a couple of miles away. Probably can't see the plane details in this picture since I've re sized it. Will post a crop of it later

Taken without zoom.
