Bee Eaters take 3
Was sick and missed some outings today. It was gonna be a boring rest day for me. Luckily some friends pop by later in the afternoon and the weather wasn't that bad so I quickly set my tripod and begin shooting. [Wuuuu pretty sharp...]
Was trying hard to try and get it in flight but I didn't set the shutter high enough. Probably wasn't thinking much due to the fever [Excuses, excuses, NOOOOOBB!!!]. So here are my failed attempts.

Dragons and Bees
Took the Bigmos out to shoot some birds but there wasn't any at that time. Saw this dragonfly on a branch and thought I'd try shooting it while waiting for the birds.
Manage to get a couple of shots of it taking off and landing. [Dunno if this fella is landing or taking off ]
Fella manage to catch a cockroach which I had earlier mistaken as a wasp! [Yeeeeewww that's one big roach]

Well as usual the Bee-Eaters drop by again and as usual the weather was lousy.
So did a Sterling who had just had a bath

Even threw the roach up and gulp it down in one go.

Blue-Tailed
Don't mind the boring background. Cloudy day. Had another go with the Bee eaters, this time on the television antenna of my neighbour house.
It spots its food flying around close by. [Nah... that insect had a death wish!]
Next thing a bee is in its mouth. [You missed the fella while it was trying to catch the bee!!!!]

Asian Koel
Same bird that I shot in Malacca only know its proper name now as the Asian Koel.
A female one as the male is normally black. This is the bird that makes that loud Ko-el sound

The Chiku (& Mango) Tree
Some of the birds found on my Chiku Tree.
Olived-backed Sunbird
Yellow Vented Bulbul
Been sometime since I've seen this bird on the tree but never really got a good looked at it. Finally got a shot of it. Wanna know what bird is it? Stay Tuned. {Lousy photo!! can't even see its face and ask to stay tune. Show lah!! :P}

Meet the King
Took a drive down to Penang last Friday (16th May 2009) and stop by a rest area. Had another chance to use my new lens to shoot this White Collared Kingfisher when divemuster spotted it at the place we were parked. A little soft but still pretty good since they were taken hand held. Just needs more practise.
View of the fella with a lizard which it magically cought in mid-air. Don't ask me how, we just saw it flew and next we know the little fella was in its beak.
The sun was at the back of the kingfisher so I over exposed the shot +2 to try and get these two photos.
Here is one at 100% crop.
{You know its lucky it was a lizard. Imagine if it was a praying mantis! Then there would really be something to laugh about [right mogs] :P }
